New collection: 1930s-50s Medium Format

So I recently popped open an envelope full of medium format negatives (around 250 of them) and scanned the first dozen or so. Some have really damaged emulsions, and some are blurry / poorly shot – but then, some of them are not:

We got game.

In addition to a lot of portraits such as this one, there are some real oddballs in here which I look forward to digging into:

I don’t even know what to say about this one.

This looks like an outtake from a Ralph Eugene Meatyard photoessay. I can’t wait to see what the rest of this set looks like, but since I’ve spent 10 minutes with it so far – and my negatives & scanner are hundreds of miles away, since I’m on vacation down South – we shall have to wait to see what the next dozen hold. These were the best two from this lot. In any case, hopefully there’s some more winners in that envelope!
